Jenny & John
Jenny and John met while performing Summer Shakespeare in 1997. They have worked together on many projects, including the raising of their sons, Johnny and James. They have many combined years of teaching and theatre experience.
John is a Professor of Theater and Chair of the Performing Arts Department at Brookdale Community College. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting From Ramapo College and his Masters Degree in Acting from The Theater School at DePaul University in Chicago. John has been teaching improvisation, basic and advanced acting, classical acting, character development, scene study, Shakespeare, and auditioning for over 30 years. He has taught Acting for the Young Artist for McCarter Theater, Creative Theater, Count Basie Cool School, Morris County High School for the Performing Arts and Monmouth County Arts High School. John has directed over 50 productions including dramas, musicals, and Shakespeare plays. As an actor, John has performed in over 40 shows in and around New Jersey, Chicago, and Washington D.C. He spent two seasons with the Surflight Summer Theater Company on Long Beach Island. John has also spent over ten years performing interactive children's theatre for McCarter Theater in Princeton, NJ. John is certified to teach speech and theater to children in kindergarten through twelfth grade.
Jenny has a BA with both fine art and theater concentrations from Ramapo College of New Jersey. Some of her favorite stage roles include Juliet in Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, Hero in Much Ado About Nothing, Katarina in The Taming of the Shrew, and Lila Larswald (original cast) in Van Zandt and Milmore's Wrong Window. Jenny performed improv for several years with both On the Spot and Nutty by Nature of Bloomfield, NJ. She has directed many school plays and Christmas pageants with children of all ages. She is certified to teach children in preschool through twelfth grade and currently teaches preschool children in Ramsey, NJ.
